We know how to arrive at a solution that is win/win for you and the insurance company.

Insurance Claims

Here at Reitz Roofing, we specialize in making your insurance claim easy and effortless for you.

Having been struck with a natural disaster due to hail, snow or fire which is causing further damage to your home because of roofing issues can be a stressful situation.

Reitz Roofing wants to help ease the daunting task of getting your roof repaired as quickly and easily as possible.

We want to make sure that you are fully compensated for the entire job and that nothing has been missed.

Our Process

Here is how the process works….

If you think you have roof damage give us a call at 303-466-0161 or email us so we can take a look at your roof and determine the extent of your damage and if you need to contact your insurance company.

Once we take a look at your roof we can advise you on what your next step is.

If we can repair the damage you may not need to call your insurance company.

If the damage is extensive then we will recommend you contact your insurance company and turn in a claim for the repairs.

Our estimate is free so you don’t have to worry about paying for it.

After you contact your insurance company they will send out an adjuster to evaluate the damage to your roof. This adjuster will determine if the roof can be repaired or if the damage is significant enough to warrant an entire roof replacement.

The insurance adjuster will provide a written evaluation as to the condition of your roof, with an estimate of the cost for repairs or replacement.

Youll also be glad to know that we have your best interest at heart.

Here is what we will do for you…

Reitz Roofing will compare the adjuster’s evaluation to our suggested contract to repair or replace your roof.

We will review the adjusters report to evaluate the scope of work to assure that our professional opinion meets the adjuster’s scope of work. If we feel the adjuster has missed some of the work that you need, we will work with the adjuster and make sure that you get the work needed and a good job on the repairs.

If there is a mortgage on the house, the insurance company will most likely endorse the check to you and the mortgage company. This will require the mortgage company to sign off on the check so that you can go forward with the job. We will assist you in getting the endorsement so repairs can move forward.

Note: Typically, there are several forms that will need to be signed and notarized and we will help you through this paperwork process so that your roof can be repaired in a timely manner.

Here at Reitz Roofing we care about you and will do everything possible to help you file your insurance claim so that we can repair or replace your roof as quickly and easily as possible.

Insurance Claims FAQ

◊ I expected my check to be more than it is; why is it lower than what I thought?

There are two deductions they take from your original check. They will deduct your deductible and also depreciation.

◊ What does it mean when the insurance company says I have depreciation and I am going to end up with less money now?

This has to do with your Replacement Value Cost (RVC) which is the current cost to replace your roof. The insurance company also takes into consideration the Actual Cost Value (ACV).

As an example, let’s say your roof is in year 10 of a 20 year life span when the damage occurs. If the cost is $10,000 RVC then the ACV would be $5,000, which you will be paid to you later. This is the depreciation and is generally paid after the work is completed.

◊ How long before I can expect the check for the depreciation?

Law requires the insurance company to pay you the amount for depreciation only days after the final roofing invoice is submitted to the insurance company.

◊ What is the bottom line cost to me as the insured?

You are responsible for the deductible listed in your Homeowner’s insurance policy plus any upgrades that you may request.

◊ My funds are low, how can I get out of paying the deductible?

You cannot, legally. Insurance fraud happens when the homeowner and the roofing contractor get together and falsify paperwork. Dont do this. It is not worth it.

◊ If I find a roofing contractor that will do the job for less than the price than adjuster gave us, is this money mine to keep and I can I apply it towards the deductible?

No, the deductible is paid first. If you find a cheaper contractor you will save the insurance company money, not yourself.

◊ What if the contractors quote is more than what the insurance company is offering to pay?

Sometimes adjusters can miss things that the professionals see. Because of our good relationship with the insurance companies in town, we can almost always work with them to help them understand what the adjuster missed and why the work needs to be completed and done for more the higher amount.
